This notice explains how Blooming World International ("BWI") protects the original work published on blwi.org - our research, educational and training materials, and program media - and the limited circumstances in which that work may be reused. It should be read together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
© 2026 Blooming World International - All rights reserved. Unless otherwise credited, the content on blwi.org is the original work of BWI or is used under license, and is protected under Kenyan copyright law and applicable international copyright treaties and conventions.
Because education is our core thematic area, a significant share of that content is instructional and research material developed for teachers, learners, researchers and community partners. That purpose is exactly why we set out, below, what others may do with it - rather than leaving reuse to guesswork.
Protected work includes, without limitation:
Many of our education programs work directly with children and junior learners. Photographs, video, testimonials, and stories featuring program participants are published only with informed consent from the participant and, for minors, their parent or guardian, and only for the purpose explained at the time consent was given.
This media carries protections beyond ordinary copyright. It may not be downloaded, reproduced, cropped, captioned, or redistributed by any third party - including for onward publication, fundraising, or promotional use - without BWI's separate written permission, granted only after our safeguarding review.
This restriction exists to protect the dignity and safety of the children and communities we serve, consistent with our safeguarding commitments, and applies even where the general educational-use permission in Section 4 would otherwise allow reuse.
In keeping with our mission to advance education and open knowledge-sharing, BWI permits limited reuse of our published research, reports and curricula, provided that:
This permission does not extend to media covered by Section 3, to our trademarks and branding (Section 5), to any content marked as third-party or partner-owned (Section 6), or to bulk redistribution, resale, or republication of substantially all of a work. For any use outside these terms, or for commercial licensing, contact us using the details in Section 9.
"Blooming World International", "BWI", "BWI Academy", our logos, and associated program names are marks of BWI. They may not be used to imply endorsement, partnership, or affiliation, or used on merchandise, promotional material, or any third-party publication, without our prior written consent - even where the underlying text or research is being reused under Section 4.
Some material on blwi.org - including donor and partner logos, co-branded research, and content contributed by research partners - is owned by those third parties and displayed with their permission. Such material remains subject to its owner's own rights and is not covered by the permission in Section 4.
Content submitted by users of the Services (for example, a job application or a whistleblowing report) is handled under our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, not this notice.
If you believe content on blwi.org infringes your copyright or other rights, or that our content, branding, or protected media (including media covered by Section 3) is being misused elsewhere, please write to legal@blwi.org with a description of the material, its location, and your contact details. We review all reports and take appropriate action, which may include requesting removal or takedown.
We may update this notice from time to time to reflect new content formats, programs, or licensing arrangements. The "Last updated" date above will always reflect the current version.
