Prof. Joseph Mochama Abuya is a renowned scholar and practitioner in health systems strengthening, with a focus on improving healthcare accessibility and quality in Africa. He has played a pivotal role in various initiatives aimed at enhancing public health outcomes, policy development, and health service delivery. Prof. Abuya possesses a wealth of knowledge in areas such as health financing, governance, and capacity building.

His research contributions have significantly influenced health policies and practices, and he is actively involved in mentoring the next generation of health professionals. He is also currently a Senior Lecturer, Department of Radiology and Imaging-Moi University and done on Ultrasound patterns on palpable abdominal masses in children. He has also studied  study of CXR findings on HIV positive individuals in the Ampath programme
